OUR STORY

At the beginning of the Table Network was a leader who couldn’t unsee the stats in the U.S.: 37% of those 15-30 years old claim no spiritual interest (largest % in history); 43,000 people leave the church every week, and 96% of growth comes from members moving from one church to the next. Here a decision was made to listen less to what "insiders" thought and more to what people “outside” the church were saying. Two things surfaced: for most, the gospel wasn’t “good news”, and for many, 70% of the population, there is no interest in attending a church service of any kind.

With a desire to meet people where they are, a vision was born in early 2014 for a network that places the message and medium of Jesus in the hands of everyday people so everyone can experience the freedom and family found at the table he prepared. To this end the Table Network was formed, others joined, and the mission became clear: help others find rest, slow down, and make disciples around the simplicity of good food, Good News and good conversation. Church families forming along the way has been the natural result.

FAQs

WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE AS A NETWORK?

As a network we hold to the Scriptures as God's inspired word to us, and to the doctrines expressed through them as outlined in the Apostle's Creed and the Five Solas.

WHAT DO YOU VALUE AS A NETWORK?

FREEDOM: The finished work of Jesus needs nothing else, and so we are free to rest.
FAMILY: The church is a family, and so we slow down and meet people where they are.

WHAT DO YOU MEASURE AS A NETWORK?

LIBERATION: people finding freedom from the tyranny of performance through trust in the finished work of Jesus on their behalf.
MULTIPLICATION: the gospel spreading through the multiplication of disciples, leaders, church families, and kingdom focussed business adventures.

IS TABLE NETWORK PART OF A DENOMINATION?

No. We do partner with some denominations such as the Missionary Church, and with the Christian and Missionary Alliance, Southern Baptist Convention, Presbyterian Church USA, and others. However, we are not a denomination, nor does someone need to belong to one to be part of the network.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE PART OF THE TABLE NETWORK?

PARTICIPATING IN THE FAMILY - Ministry is simple, but it’s by no means easy. Which is why at the core of belonging to the Table Network is a community of like minded people committed to coaching and caring for one another.

GIVING TO THE FAMILY - We can do far more together than we can do alone. To that end every Table expression or leader forming new ones gives monthly to the collective mission we are pursuing together. No specific %’s required, just generosity.

LEADING NEW FAMILIES - To see the Gospel spread through the multiplication of disciples, church families and kingdom business adventures, every leader in the Table Network lives as a missionary and trainer of future missionaries.

IS TABLE NETWORK A LICENSED NOT-FOR-PROFIT MINISTRY?

Yes, all donations to the network are tax-deductible, and through ministry partnerships we are able to provide partnered church families with a non-profit covering if needed.

HOW DOES TABLE NETWORK DIFFER FROM CHURCH-PLANTING NETWORKS?

We see the need for new churches, but we believe Scripture reveals church families form out of the harvest through discipleship rather than a congregation being planted to invite outsiders into. We believe this happens most often under the leadership of everyday people.
